In this semi abstract floral painting I wanted to create a feeling of being inside a garden rather than looking at it from the outside. I built the surface through layered applications of gouache combined with oil pastel marks, creating a richly layered and saturated surface where forms are closely interwoven. A poppy holds the central focus of the composition, clearly defined within the surrounding color. I am interested in how a strong form can remain stable within an active and saturated field. I worked intuitively, following the movement of color and texture, allowing the image to develop slowly. This contemporary work on paper invites a close and attentive viewing, where details reveal themselves gradually. Original semi abstract floral painting on paper, created with gouache and oil pastel.
