I painted this work from a memory of driving through the south of France in spring. Bright red fields would suddenly appear between rows of cypress trees, then disappear again just as quickly. What stayed with me was not the landscape itself, but the feeling of those fleeting moments of color and light. In this abstract expressionist painting, I wanted to capture that sense of movement, memory, and atmosphere rather than a specific place. Layers of crimson red, soft pink, green, and earthy tones build a landscape that exists somewhere between observation and recollection. Texture plays an important role in the work, allowing colors to emerge, recede, and interact much like memories themselves. The composition balances energy and stillness, inviting the viewer to slow down and discover their own associations within the painting. This contemporary abstract artwork is inspired by nature, travel, and the emotional resonance of place. It is a reflection on how certain images remain with us long after the journey has ended. The artwork is professionally presented in an elegant distressed silver floater frame, included in the sale and ready to hang. The painting is protected with a satin varnish finish.
