I created The Possibility of Meaning without starting from a defined image or subject. Instead, I allowed the composition to develop through layers of colour, gestural marks and the gradual interaction of different forms. Soft pinks, muted blues, greens, cream and earthy tones create a shifting visual field, while darker expressive marks add depth and tension. Some forms appear almost recognizable, then dissolve again into abstraction. I wanted to leave that uncertainty open rather than resolve it into a specific image. For me, this is where abstract painting becomes particularly interesting. Meaning does not always have to be given to us. Sometimes it emerges through the way we look, what we associate with the colours and forms, and what the painting allows us to imagine.
