This painting was inspired by the northern autumn landscape, where muted greens, earthy ochres and warm golden tones meet cooler grey and blue tones. The natural colours and textures became the foundation of the composition. Darker passages bring the weight of rocks and ground into the painting, while lighter areas suggest open space, distant mountains and autumn vegetation. Layers of colour, expressive brushstrokes and rich texture allow these elements to merge and shift across the canvas. The landscape remains present through its colours, textures and organic forms, while the composition moves freely between nature and abstraction. The painting is finished with a protective varnish that preserves the surface and enhances the depth of the colours.

I created Where Wonder Remains as a reflection on the part of us that remains connected to childhood, dreams, imagination, and the simple joy of discovering the world. Although we grow older and life changes us, I believe that some of those early feelings never truly disappear. I am not depicting a particular place or moment. Instead, I explore an emotional landscape shaped by memory, dreams, childhood impressions, and imagination. The painting is an attempt to capture something that cannot really be described in words: the feeling of seeing the world with openness, curiosity, and the quiet certainty that something beautiful is possible. It’s my invitation to reconnect with that feeling. To remember the part of ourselves that still dreams, still notices beauty, and still knows how to experience joy without needing a reason. Perhaps we never truly leave that world behind. We simply learn to carry it with us. The painting is finished with a protective varnish and can be purchased as a finished work, stretched on its wooden stretcher frame and ready to hang. Alternatively, upon request, I can remove the canvas from the stretcher, carefully roll it, and ship it rolled. In this case, the buyer will need to have the canvas re-stretched onto a suitable frame before displaying it.

Where Flowers Become Stories. I have always loved flowers and fairy tales. As a child, I read countless stories and was fascinated by the worlds they opened up, where everything seemed possible and the ordinary could become magical. In this painting, I return to that feeling of seeing the world from a child’s perspective, when a garden could feel enormous and every flower, shadow and tangled form could hold a secret. I imagine myself small, almost inside the flowers, surrounded by their colours, movement and mysterious connections. The layered forms intertwine and shift between recognisable flowers and imagined shapes, creating a space where reality gently dissolves into memory and imagination. Rather than depicting a particular garden, I wanted to capture the feeling of being immersed in one, where the mind is free to wander and create its own stories. I still love flowers, and I still believe in miracles. Perhaps growing older does not mean leaving that world behind. Perhaps it simply means learning to find it again. The painting is finished with a satin varnish for protection and long-term preservation.
